Jack "Shooter" Thompson Gives Pointers on Becoming One With The Royal Flush Club

Royal Flush ClubHe's rude, tough, and without a doubt raw, but the man knows how to throw a Lawn Dart.

Target Toss Pro's Jack "Shooter" Thompson is without a doubt the greatest Target Toss Pro player to ever live. He also happens to be the voice you hear offering up uncensored words of encouragement or disapproval. Raw Talk™ is perhaps his most noticeable accomplishment in terms of notoriety, but his vast knowledge of both Bags and Lawn Darts make him a valuable tool on Targettosspro.com.

And so, JST is here to offer up his tips on getting into the Royal Flush Club. WARNING: What he has in terms of knowledge, he lacks in social skills.

Take it away, Shooter!

Lawn DartTip One: Easy and important first step. Take inventory on where the cards are and identify which suit may be the easiest for you to go for. This ain't rocket science, Einstein. Are some placed close together? Are some closer to you then others? Make it easy on yourself and go for the suit that suits your game. For me, all suits in all places are fine, but I'm the best damn player on the planet.

Tip Two: This definitely feeds off of Tip One, but make sure the card you're going for is placed in a position where you are given some "outs." What I mean by that is you should look for a card that has other suited cards around it, just in case you happen to miss – which you certainly will. This gives you at least one potential mulligan on your first shot. After that, however, you're going to have to be perfect. Good luck with that.

Tip Three: Use the lowest arm angle on all cards positioned in the first three rows. I don't care how good you think you are, this makes going at these cards much easier because you take the wind out of play. Anything higher than that, and you should use the default arm angle to keep the same consistency. If you're anywhere close to my skill level (which of course you are not) this should be no problem.

Tip Four: Learn to turn your player to compensate for all winds and distances. Unlike some of the other games, you'll be forced to throw darts in all directions depending on the random setups. Since the majority of you can't handle such a task, here's something else to try. Instead of hitting the trackball in all different directions to aim, move the trackball before you fire away and give yourself a straight shot. This will ensure that you can pinpoint which card you'd like to hit. Learn the winds and you should be in the club eventually - unless of course you really suck.

Tip Five: If you're trying for the Royal Flush Club, playing with tons of friends might not be the thing to do. The more players, the more chances there will be for one of these donkeys will steal a card that you need - on purpose or simply to block your shot. I'm not saying be antisocial and avoid playing with friends, but my best advice would be to go for the Royal Flush Club on your own, in a one player game. Who are you kidding; you don't have any friends anyway.
