One has been at it since the beginning. The other, just three weeks. But either way, it was only a matter of time before these names were added to the BAGS Century Club!
Since the early days of BAGS, David Crawford has been recognized as one of the top players in the game. He was hitting 80's before most were topping 50, and his second place finish in the BAGS Away tournament at Cabana Jo's on January 12 solidified his name as being synonymous with BAGS excellence.
And now it's official - Crawford can join the elite.
Playing against fellow Century Club member Kirk Stimpert, the Germantown, WI native tossed an impressive 103 to become the ninth member of the club!
On a side note, with Stimpert tossing a 96 in that same match, the pair broke their own head-to-head record with a combined score of 199. The two originally set the record of 195 on January 12 when Stimpert beat Crawford 104-91 in the BAGS Away final.
Tom Kipphut's rise to BAGS glory has been more sudden.
A long time Golden Tee player who won thousands of dollars in the old monthly ITS tournaments, Kipphut found BAGS only a few weeks ago and immediately formed a new addiction - logging hundreds of games a week.
But despite being one of only three Hole Shot Heroes, Kipphut had only flirted with triple digits. It was his personal white whale as he pumped out game after game only to end up mere points from his goal. But his perseverance has finally paid off as he tossed a 100 on the nose to become the tenth member!
