The Final Days

Fighters, Venue Preparing for Highly Anticipated Sobe vs. Mims II

It's gripped the BAGS nation since it was announced. And this Saturday, it becomes a reality.

SobeSteven Sobe. Timmy Mims. One bout will determine the undisputed BAGS champion! Starting at 3 pm, from Cabana Jo's in Prescott, WI, the two masters of the trackball will battle it out in a best-of-seven match. Every ounce of BAGS skill will be tested. And when the smoke clears, one will be crowned.

Tournament Director Brett Rossen has been working feverously to make sure everything is in place for a bout that could make the Rumble in the Jungle look like a Pop Warner fight. No detail has been overlooked - with everything from the trackball to the venue having been checked and re-checked. Even the pre-bout announcements will be nothing short of top-notch.

"We'll have lasers and a smoke machine," Rossen commented. "The competitors will even have their own entrance music. This is a fight and we want it to look and feel as much like a boxing match as possible."Mims

And the competitors are treating it no different. The early line has Mims as a 3 to 2 favorite, which could be contributing to Sobe practicing to the point of putting physical harm on his body. And Mims has been a workout warrior himself- amassing hundreds of games and putting up obscene scores. In a match with this much anticipation and ballyhoo, both know anything less than total dedication will result in a loss.

And after their first match, neither wants to even think about defeat. Under the ballroom lights of the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta last August, the BAGS' superstars battled it out after the Golden Tee LIVE Southeast Open. Blow after blow, toss after toss, the duo gave a legendary performance - with Sobe emerging as the victor.

But another chapter will be written in this saga on January 12. Will Sobe retain his title? Can Mims handle the pressure? Both are hungry, but this Saturday, only one will claim the title in the "Redemption on the River!"

THIS SATURDAY REDEMPTION IS AT HAND!

*** RUMOR ALERT ***
Sources close to Sobe say he may be switching his strategy. Word out of the Sobe camp is that the champ has been testing out various strategies over the past couple weeks and has found one he feels is superior. While some feel it's a risky move with the bout so close, Sobe seems supremely confident.
